Our farewell poem
To the Grade 7s of 2019
Oh what a pleasure this year has been
We're glad we were your teachers
We've come to love you so
We can't believe the end is here
and we hate to see you go
But before you move on to the next year
We'd like to share one last thing
A day in our classrooms will become clear
as we begin before the bell starts to ring
We've barely reached the corridor
when Kuhle already has words for Mrs Williams to adore
"Mrs Williams!" "How are you?'
Theo come whizzing past
With a Mrs V! and an energy that is unsurpassed
"Aweh!" echoes through the room
"You know thats banned in this classroom Blake!" Mrs Williams begins to boom
Neha appears, books in hand
asking a million questions about work she already understands
A mighty crash resounds through the air
Shaylins bottle flipping
breaks a window
and that gave even him a scare
Kwandile's built-in megaphone laugh
let the whole school know, even the staff
Jaden went sprinting to see all the action
and Rushil nodded his head in total satisfaction
Talia says "shame you guys, don't laugh. Its not very kind"
"Yes gents" agrees Les, "settle down, no need to lose you mind"
"Yes guys, never fear. Empress Ndlovu is here. Sccrrr"
"Whatever Siya, we all know I'm the drama queen here"
"Oh hello, Zipho" Asimbonge comes dancing by
Mohale is laughing and dancing in the corner, nobody knows why
Vongai is making Tik toks (Mrs Williams, pleas be in my videos)
Siyabonga walks past and mutters "what a bunch of weirdos"
Connor is playing one man ice hockey with a paper ball
while Soheil chats about the new Gucci store thats just opened at the mall.
Really Jenna says being her sweet old self
while Thato takes some more scrap paper to draw, off the shelf
Tobe reads his book totally undisturbed
Jamie has misplaced his Maths book again and is becoming quite perturbed.
Junior is bragging about last nights Fornight success
while Kyle "what ya ll doing here" is eating his breakfast and cleaning his books which are alwasy a mess
Ria on the other hand is always very neat
When it comes to rainbow writing, Kaamilah can't be beat
"I know I can treat you better than he can"
"cause every girl like me deserves a Mendez man"
sings Jasmita and Kamira who is Menezes biggest fan
Yaredena is quietly working on her masterpiece
her talent for writing will never cease
Soooo Mam, I was wondering
Why is it okay to say ring and rang but not bring and brang
queries Cebo, thinking he's the funny man
Mrs Williams rolls her eyes
Mrs Veneruso simply sighs
We look at our watches in surprise
Its not even 8 am yet they realize
We are really going to miss you guys! You were an awesome bunch of kids! Never lose your sparkle and zest for life. We wish you all the best for High school! Love you xx
